An award-winning luxury resort in Cornwall are seeking a Commercial Director to drive the ambitious growth plans of the business. Situated on the beautiful Cornish coast, this organisation boasts fantastic views from their holiday lets, hotel rooms, restaurants and health/spa facilities. They have undergone significant refurbishment through investment and are looking to expand upon their already loyal and impressive customer base.

The resort benefits from a strong entrepreneurial leadership team and an agile workforce. They are widely recognised as the market leader in Cornwall and this is a reputation that the Commercial Director and team will continue to grow.

The Role

As Commercial Director you will report directly to the CEO and be able to deputise accordingly. This is a key position on the Senior Leadership Team, direct reports will include a Marketing Manager, Sales Manager, Revenue Manager and the reservations team. As well as your direct reports, other key relationships will include the Head Chef, Spa & Hotel Managers and front of house staff.

You will be responsible for the full marketing mix, everything from brand strategy, including digital marketing, brand growth, performance marketing and measurable to track ROI, right the way through to the commercial aspects, such as revenue, creating and harnessing sales culture and leading from the front to really grow the business and ensure excellence is achieved at all times. You will have full responsibility for sales, revenue management product development, pricing and all aspects associated with the achievement of revenue budgets.

This is a multi-disciplined strategic but also hands on role where customer experience is the number one priority. The leadership team are firm believers that if the customer journey and marketing are exceptional, then the revenue and growth will follow.

What You Will Need

To be successful in this role, you will have had a successful career in marketing to date and then transitioned into a similar role within the hospitality, travel or the F&B sector where you will have had extensive exposure to sales and revenue. You will have worked at Marketing Director level across, brand, digital, communications, product as well as other key skills at a senior level. You will be naturally creative and able to challenge the status quo. It is essential that you are commercially minded, analytical and focussed on exceeding sales targets through driving high performing teams by motivating and coaching. You will be entrepreneurial and have excellent interpersonal skills and sharply focussed on continuous improvement. You will need to be able to demonstrate a track record of success in a similar role within a relevant sector.

This role is based in Cornwall so will suit someone in the local area or someone who genuinely loves Cornwall and is looking to relocate.
